I'm sure most of you are familiar with Jerry's story, but in case you aren't... meet Jerry!

Back in May of 2023, Jerry was found dragging himself through the desert by an independent rescuer in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Later, it was discovered that he had been shot in the spine, leaving him unable to move his hind end.

A few months later, in hopes of a better life, he was sent to a fraudulent rescue posing as a special needs specialized rehab center in Chandler, AZ. He ended up confined to a small cage for 3-4 months, forced to sit in his urine and feces. This resulted in significant skin trauma on his legs and bottom.

In September '23, authorities moved in and removed 60+ disabled dogs from the house. The conditions were absolutely deplorable.

He then stayed at the Arizona Humane Society for 3-4 weeks, waiting for the release of the legal hold they were all under. The initial plan upon his release fell through due to unforeseen behavioral problems and the extent of rehab he would need to recover.

That's when Handover Rover stepped in.

Jerry requires intense and costly therapies to keep him progressing. Physical therapy and acupuncture alone cost $1000/month.

He's at the point now where he can pull himself into a standing position and take multiple consecutive steps!!!

It's going to be a long road with this boy, but once he's "easy," he will be up for adoption!
