JEFFERY

Jeffery’s Story

We pulled little Jeffery from a high-kill shelter in CA with 44 minutes to spare after he was found in a storm drain. This was the 3rd time he had ended up in the shelter. This time, his owners didn't want him back.

Jeffery is the life of the party! Pony hopping up and down the yard, any chance he gets. He is a wildly intelligent dog. He is a big fan of other dogs, that are gentle with him.

His energy is unlike anything we've ever experienced. He's an extraordinary boy. A friend described him as a "new soul"… that connected all the pieces. That's exactly what it feels like!

He is almost completely deaf and has some vision impairment, more so affecting him at night. Jeffery has a smaller forebrain and cerebellum than most dogs, causing a slight wobble and unsteady gait. Though, he's entirely self-sufficient and can navigate and potty on his own! As far as we know, Jeff has always been this way.

One of his favorite things to do is stalk and hunt birds in the yard. A true, wobbly, apex predator! He’ll even occasionally let out his, very rare, Jeffery roar. It’s adorable!!

We have been working to implement touch training with him to better communicate and give him the structure and boundaries all dogs strive for.
